Email Campaign Executive | A Con Job or Not

By Harrison Barnes of http://www.ecommercecrossing.com/

In the business of ecommerce, you'll find email campaign executives are in high demand. More and more ecommerce solutions depend on effective email campaigns, and more ecommerce hosting servers are offering email hosting and campaign strategies. As an executive, you'll often need to find the ecommerce solution to many of the ecommerce software problems revolving around email lists and email campaigns.

Since the marketing industry has greatly changed and people no longer respond to junk mail sent to their mailboxes, people now target email boxes. They try to lure people in with one liner subject headings. They try to offer all kinds of deals via the internet. Maybe there are people who respond to them. For the most part, they're scams looking for idiots who are desperate enough to click on the link and fill out their credit card info.

I actually just received a few of these today. I receive junk mail everyday, but this one grabbed me and I actually opened it and clicked on the link. They promised me a 7,500 credit line and I thought I'd check it out. Turns out they were only offering the 7,500 towards particular purchases and they'd soon require a monthly payment of $39.99 to keep that credit line open. It was a scam, but there are bound to be people who don't read the fine print and will be resenting this company after they've paid them $40. They'll realize they've been scammed and might be able to find a way to get themselves out of it before they're charged for another month. And there's probably going to be a cancellation fee that was also included in the fine print. It's a great way for a con artist to make a quick buck.

Email campaign executives will often be in charged of that initial email that gets sent out to the masses. They'll make sure the email has a heading that will draw people in. They'll need to think of a catchy phrase that will spark people's interest and coerce them into clicking on their link. It's all about marketing.

Many people would argue that these jobs are con jobs. You're working for con artists who are earning their living off of idiots. There's an inexhaustible source of idiots in the world, which is why there are so many of these businesses out there. People claiming they have that get rich quick scheme that'll change their lives forever. In the end, people will have to buckle down and work a daily job that pays the bills. There are no get rich quick schemes, and the sooner people realize that, the sooner they'll find financial stability. They won't waste all their money paying for these scams.

It's terrible when people send out these emails promising money making opportunities. The people who will be interested are those who are desperate for more income. They're desperate because they don't make very much as it is. So then this company charges them $39.95 without them knowing it and robs them. They're robbing the poor so they can make themselves rich. It's a terrible line of work. I don't know how most of those people live with themselves. But somehow they keep coming out with more scams to make more money and this is how they make their living. They live in large houses with all kinds of commodities, most likely there to ease their conscience. I don't think they can ever ease their conscience with all the things money can buy, but they'll try anyway. They'll get into all kinds of bad habits to see if it'll help them escape from all the terrible things they've done.

Email campaign executives could also be working for legitimate corporations. Most companies will have all their employees' emails and will need to contact the entire company from time to time. So the email campaign executive will make sure everyone is getting those emails. They might also structure the email and make the header sound interesting enough for all the employees to open and read it. There are also other individuals who have legitimate email lists. People like musicians with their fan base, or organizations that have their followers. There might be a church that has all the email addresses of their congregation, or a movement that has email addresses from petitioners. These will all need an email campaign executive to send out the mass emails to all those on the list. These people were all once interested, so the email should base itself off of that spark. It'll need to breathe a little life back into the product or company. So they'll still need to make the email header interesting enough to make people want to read it.

It's a shame that most of these jobs will be working for companies that scam the masses. Think of all the junk mail you get on a daily basis. These were all sent by people with the title: Email Campaign Executive. Such a prestigious title for a lackluster job. If you don't mind scamming other people and sending them daily junk mail, then you might not care about the moral duties you cross when you take on a job like this. So by all means, keep doing what you're doing. The rest of us will continue to push those emails to our junk folders so we don't ever have to see them pop up in our inbox. But you'll probably snag enough people to make it worth it to you so you and your company still make some money. You'll take advantage of a few poor souls who might be new to email or new to the idea of junk mail in your inbox. Eventually, the new generation won't put up with it any longer and you'll be out of a job.
